Io engages the dynamism of negative space as an activating force. A striking form is achieved with an ornate geometry that recalls Moroccan wood screens and Frank Lloyd Wright’s stained glass panels. At once functional and an invitation to imagination, the patterned cutouts play with light and space in a manner that is ideal for a baby’s crib, allowing for visibility of both the outside world and the interior of the structure. The solidity of the form is achieved with German-made Solid Oak Cross Laminated Timber, made using an advanced technology not yet available in the United States.
The collection includes a crib; forthcoming pieces are a dresser, conversation kit and toddler divan.
