The elegant, minimal silhouette in a vibrant painted-metal palette, nods to the utilitarian and industrial as much as it does to the sophisticated and playful. Highly resistant to rust and corrosion and highly-durable, it is able to withstand both seaside and desert conditions.

The Material Studies Series is an exploration of a material’s influence on design and space. In this first chapter, Rugosa has been adapted into metal. Substantial solid pine planks have been exchanged for slender and vibrant painted metal, which nods to the utilitarian and industrial as much as it does to the sophisticated and playful. Originally released in 2020, this suite of furniture was crafted entirely in sustainably harvested Western Sugar Pine. While a singular choice of material for the first collection sought to honor and evolve the spirit of the living room, these new pieces embrace the exterior elements.
